Khaled steps into the role following the retirement of Amaar Assi

Energy International Corporation is proud to announce that Ziad Khaled has been named as General Manager for the Qatar operations.

Ziad assumes the role of Manager following the retirement of long-time GM Amaar Assi.

“Ziad has done an outstanding job for Energy International in Qatar,” said Dr. Ned Fawaz, Founder and CEO of Energy International Corporation. “He has been instrumental in growing our operations and our market share and we look forward to continued success as he leads us into the future.”

The Beirut, Lebanon native joined Energy International’s Qatar office on May 25, 2010 and has worked in Qatar for his entire career with Energy most recently on the Masaeed Workers Hospital and Mega Reservoir projects.

Prior to coming to Energy International, Ziad was a site planning engineer in the United Arab Emirates with Thermo L.L.C. where he worked on the Shams Gate Towers project in Abu Dhabi.

He holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the Universite Libano-Francaise, Lebanese French University, North Lebanon (ULF).

After graduation he travelled to Northern France where he spent a year studying at the Universite de Technologie de Belfort Montbeliard (UTMB).

In addition, Ziad earned DELF and DALF degrees in French Language and received an award from the French Ambassasor in Lebanon for outstanding results.

Ziad’s predecessor, Amaar Assi, who announced his retirement in June of this year, launched the Qatar office in January of 2007, working from his apartment and internet coffee shops for the first nine months until the official office was established.

“Amaar has been a great asset to Energy International,” said Dr. Fawaz. “Without Amaar’s dedication and hard work there would be no office in Qatar. Thanks to him we now own a substantial piece of the HVAC market also expanded our Building Controls Division who opened an office in Doha. I thank Amaar for his contributions to Energy and wish him all the best in retirement.”
